38 Years of Exceptional Service - George Loop Retires from APG

Our Construction General Superintendent George Loop, has retired after 38 years of dedicated service. George joined APG in August 1984 as one of the company’s first employees. After a brief 18-month absence to help his father shutdown his business, he returned to continue establishing what APG is today. With 14 years of electrical experience in installations and supervision, George quickly became a valuable asset to the APG team.

As a Project Superintendent, George maintained and consistently exceeded all APG quality and performance standards. He successfully managed projects such as Crescent Beach Club I, II, and Ultimar I on Sand Key. Additionally, George proudly ran several other projects. In 1999, he achieved a career goal of being promoted to General Superintendent of Construction. During this period, he also had general oversight for the Atlanta Braves Stadium, Amazon–Lakeland, and St. Joseph’s Hospital North and South, along with countless other jobs.

With nearly four decades at APG, George has excelled in his commitment to teaching personal responsibility and job site accountability. George has been instrumental in creating opportunities to recognize and develop the talent he saw in the field with young, hard-working electricians. Employees were able to grow and achieve career success by learning from George’s skillset, knowledge, and work experience to help guide and encourage them in the electrical trade.

George has played a significant role in preparing Vaughn Orluski and Josh Falini to assume the roles of our new General Superintendents. George is confident that Vaughn and Josh have the energy and experience to lead APG into our next chapter. We are thrilled that George will be able to golf, fish, travel and spend quality time with his wife, Sue, and their four grandchildren.

Congratulations, George! We wish you continued happiness during your retirement!

"Thank you, George, for sharing your wisdom with us. Always giving insight with a different perspective. We are all very happy and excited for you. Hitting your career achievement: retirement. Congratulations, well deserved. I wish you and your family many years of happiness and health."

"It's hard to capture in words all the many things, over the many years, George has done to help build the success of our company. Thank you so much, George, for helping all of us. We want you to have the best retirement one could ever wish for."
- Terry Ryan

"During my eight years in the field working under George's general supervision, he instilled accountability and efficient work habits. Everyone knew when he was on site, you better be at your best. Then, as I transitioned to project management, I came to see another side of George as we discussed manpower and day-to-day project issues. I was saddened to hear about his wife's struggles with COVID and overjoyed to find out an experimental treatment was a success. He is proud of what APG has become and always speaks highly of our founders, John and Jerry. The man bleeds blue and teal, and he will be missed. I wish him all the best in the next chapter of his life."
- Josh Smith

"I will truly miss George. He’s smart, he’s funny, and he’s serious about his job. I’m going to miss seeing him around the office."
- Charmin Henley

"My Dad is my role model. He taught me the values of hard work, loyalty, and to never cut corners, which he has continuously demonstrated over his 38 years at APG. He bled APG blue throughout his career and always put the company's best interests first. I wish you nothing but the best in retirement! Enjoy your time with the grandkids! Love ya, Dad!"
- Justin Loop
