BIM Specialist

General Responsibilities: Prepares design drawings using electronic methods and maintains high quality
standards, maintains communication with team members and clients, and performs on‐site
observations as needed. Assists in the filing and maintenance of all completed design drawings and
documents.
Essential Functions:
  • Produce detailed layouts based on general guidelines as set by a senior technical staff member.
  • Ensures that all drawings are prepared with accuracy, neatness and speed.
  • Effectively communicates with team members, principal, other disciplines, and outside vendors to obtain necessary information for drawings.
  • Assists the design team in the process of putting a set of drawings into an organized package.
  • May assist in the collection of data and/or field verification.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A two‐year course in engineering drafting/CAD operation plus one year applicable experience,
    or three years applicable drafting experience.
 
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent use of a computer for several hours at a time
  • Periodically climb over and under barriers
  • Lift and/or carry plans weighing up to 30 lbs.

Work Environment:
  • Indoors in normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, darkness/poor lighting, fumes or dust
  • May travel to or navigate construction sites, some of which may be at high altitudes or small spaces with dirt or dust particles
  • Some local travel as needed

Reports to: Senior Designer, Engineer, Sr. Engineer
 
Classification: Non-Exempt, Hourly Employee
 
The Designer understands that this criteria is a minimal list to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of a Designer. The Designer bears in mind that from time to time he/she may be asked to
perform a reasonable, ethical, moral task not outlined in the Designer role.  The task may be of higher
level position, lower level position or completely unrelated, in order to provide best quality services of
APG divisions to display the highest level of integrity to our clients.
