APPRENTICE

Responsibilities:

• Enroll and meet eligibility requirements to remain in the Independent Electrical Contractors – Florida West Coast Chapter (IEC-FWCC) apprenticeship program.
• Work with Electrical staff to learn skills including reading blueprints; bending pipe; conduit installation; understanding of basic electrical wiring.
• Train in the installation, maintenance, modification and repair of all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment.
• Learn to utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
• Learn and remain in compliance with current National Electric Code.
• Train in the inspecting and testing of components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches and switch gears.

Qualifications:

• MUST be over the age of 18.
• MUST have a High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• MUST remain eligible to attend the Independent Electrical Contractors – Florida West Coast Chapter (IEC-FWCC) apprenticeship program.
• MUST have Valid Driver’s License and Personal Transportation.
• MUST be a US Citizen or possess a valid work permit.
• MUST have a FELONY FREE record.
• MUST be DRUG FREE before and during employment.
• MUST have a NEAT APPEARANCE.
  

​NOTE:  APG does not hire apprentices currently employed by other IEC-FWCC members; however, if you are now or were previously enrolled with IEC-FWCC but are not presently employed, you are encouraged to apply.
