TLC ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS ACQUIRES APG ENGINEERING
Clearwater, FL, April 12 — After over 30 years of internal operations, APG Engineering – one of the largest engineering groups in the Tampa Bay Area – has been acquired by TLC Engineering Solutions. The acquisition includes APG Engineering staff, offices, equipment, and most engineering contracts. This decision has come with our APG family in mind, as President Michael Henley’s “Once APG – Always APG” commitment and TLC’s partnership have made this a beneficial acquisition for both parties.
APG Engineering has contributed to our company's success by delivering exceptional MEFPT services and impactful projects to leading healthcare providers such as Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, BayCare, and Lee Health. This also includes their work at Tampa General Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital North & South. We sincerely appreciate everything our Engineering group has done to benefit APG’s clients and are excited to see their continued success with TLC’s direction.
Day-to-day operations will seamlessly continue in our Clearwater Office under TLC Engineering. Engineering employees will still have access to the café, gym, and meeting spaces, maintaining a familiar and comfortable work environment. These employees can continue to attend events such as our Annual Family Picnic, Golf Tournaments, Fireside Socials, and other APG events. Our Sarasota Office lease has been assumed by TLC as part of this acquisition.
Vice President of Engineering Mike Dobbs will be resigning from his role within the company, and we can’t thank him enough for his 12 years of committed and exceptional service. Mike has led our Engineering group since 2012 and has been instrumental in establishing our presence and workforce since his addition to our company.
Although we will no longer provide full MEFPT engineering services in-house, we will continue to provide in-house designs for electrical and fire alarm service work and temporary power systems, along with power and arc-flash studies and infra-red testing under the name APG Engineering. Brian Kavula will lead our internal engineering needs, and Rolando Martiatus will continue to serve as our qualifier and Engineer of Record. BIM services will continue to be offered under our Construction group.
We appreciate the partnership that has been made with TLC, as they are an exceptional firm and have been providing an elevated range of MEFPT services for almost 70 years. Their dedication to our APG family has been evident in all aspects of this transition as special care has been placed on ensuring the best outcome for our employees.
