WHAT WE DO
APG Engineering is a full service engineering group focused on the design and construction of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Telecommunications systems. Started in 1991, the group is committed to providing innovative designs based on time tested engineering principles while incorporating contemporary concepts and modern construction methods. Priding itself on being collaborative, the group actively seeks out to communicate with other team members to ensure the best possible product is delivered.
ENGINEERING SERVICES
Our greatest asset is our group of engineers, designers, and BIM specialists. Their vast array of project experience and wealth of design and construction knowledge provides APG Engineering with an accumulated knowledge base that sets us apart. With a strong client focus, our project managers strive to build relationships and serve as advocates for our clients.
All projects designed by APG Engineering go through an intensive in-house review process that requires both a technical and construction review prior to submission. Unique to APG, these construction reviews evaluate the design for constructability and cost savings. For architects and owners, this minimizes coordination efforts, value engineering efforts, requests for information, and change orders. APG Engineering not only strives to provide a sound engineered project, but a cost effective project.
With more than 75 years of combined AHCA project experience, the APG Engineering group of engineers, designers, and BIM specialists have designed more than 500 healthcare projects. Ranging the full breadth of the healthcare field, our projects include 2,500 square foot administration department renovations, facility condition assessments, master planning, and new construction of 500,000 square foot hospitals.

VIRTUAL DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
Through the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) technologies and methodologies, APG offers these services to clients on nearly all of our complex projects. VDC increases efficiencies in production, reduces late changes during the course of construction, minimizes rework that results in additional cost or extensions to the construction schedule, and improves operational efficiencies throughout the life of the building.
APG Engineering has extensive experience in developing 3D BIM models using Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Navisworks software. Our models are active throughout the entire design and construction process, being continuously updated to reflect the on-going changes that occur on a routine basis. These models are not only used for system coordination and clash detection, they are routinely scaled and used as installation drawings.
Often associated with the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) methodology, APG Engineering feels the accuracy and timing of the 3D BIM is essential to realizing the many benefits associated with this method.
Some of these benefits are:
- Coordination of utility services and building systems
- Early identification and resolution of system conflicts (Clash Detection)
- Compressing construction schedule
- Construction cost reduction
- Reduction in Requests For Information (RFI) and Change Orders
When construction is completed, our 3D BIM models may be converted to digital As-Built models to be used by the owner in their Operations and Maintenance programs.
Cutting-Edge Technology
APG provides new and better ways to make our projects successful. Through the adoption of electronic document controls, mobile tablets, Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodologies, our team works smarter to bring greater quality to every project.
