UNITED AIRLINES MAINTENANCE HANGER AT TAMPA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
The United Airlines Maintenance Hangar Facility project at the Tampa International Airport consisted of two narrow-body bays that provided 66,000 square feet of hangar space, along with an additional 17,620 square feet of office and shop space. The new hangar enabled the airline to service its Boeing 737 series of aircraft while allowing the company to schedule more routine maintenance work. The facility was designed to meet LEED and Florida Green Building Coalition Sustainable Design standards, with elements including increased energy efficiency and light pollution reduction.
