Standing tall above the sugar-white sands of Clearwater beach is the nearly complete JW Marriott. Developed by Kiran Patel and managed by Moss Construction, the 16-floor, 450,000- square-foot luxury hotel features 162 guest rooms and 36 residences. The complex’s unmatched amenities include an elevated 11th-floor swimming pool and bar, a full-service spa, meeting rooms, flexible ballrooms, a gym and an oceanfront restaurant with private dining.

The scope of the project pulled from all aspects of APG — electrical, fire alarm, security, technology, and 3D BIM coordination services. In the field, APG Project Superintendent Josh Falini led the charge and did a phenomenal job keeping up with changes and issues. The installation of such a highly complex lighting control system and thousands of feet of specialty light fixtures provided a considerable challenge for the team.

With a constant flow of design changes and an aggressive construction schedule, APG met every expected deadline while dealing with limited space and the inevitable delays in shipping components.

We are grateful for the opportunity with which Moss Construction has trusted us. Moss’ Senior Project Manager Tyler Harper and Project Manager Brock Troutman are true professionals, and we appreciate their hard work in successfully coordinating the efforts of APG and dozens of other contractors on the job.

Opening May 2023, the JW Marriott will stand out as the new jewel of the Gulf Coast. We are proud to have had a significant role in constructing this signature building.
