HEALTH INSURANCE

As an employee of APG, you are eligible for Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance. As a benefit of your employment, APG pays over 70% of your medical insurance premiums, while the remaining employee portion of the premium is deducted weekly as a pre-tax payroll deduction. To be eligible for this insurance, you must have completed 30 days of employment and be currently working a minimum of 30 hours each week. For enrollment information, please see HR.

Wellness Discount

BEGINNING YOUR ENROLLMENT WITH CIGNA

For new enrollees, it can take up to 2 weeks to receive your ID cards. So there may be a time when you, as a new employee, have insurance but don’t have an insurance card. What do you do?

The quickest solution is to register with www.myCigna.com and print out a temporary ID card before your card arrives in the mail. Registration is an easy process requiring just a few basic personal details to verify your identity. 

If you have problems registering with www.myCigna.com, please contact Human Resources. If you have previously had insurance with Cigna, you will need to contact Cigna’s Customer Service to reset your registration so you can view information pertaining to your current coverage.

If you still have questions regarding your coverage, you will likely find the answers within our comprehensive plan description. This document will contain information on specific exclusions, definitions, and dependent eligibility. Once registered, you can find your claims history, links to refill prescriptions and check prescription pricing, and search for in-network providers.

INSURANCE PREMIUMS

Weekly insurance premiums are paid through an S-125 payroll deduction, which allows your deduction to be excluded from Federal Income and Social Security Tax, thereby saving you money. View our Benefits Brochure for current insurance pricing.

Medical insurance premiums include a Tobacco Surcharge for those who smoke, vape, or use other tobacco products. But there is good news! Those who complete an approved smoking cessation program will qualify to receive a credit of the tobacco surcharge for the entire plan year. Inquire with HR for more information.

We also offer a weekly Wellness Discount to help employees and their family members achieve lasting improvements in their health and wellness. Participants receive over 30% off of their weekly health insurance payroll deduction. Visit Wellness Discount for more information.
