APG has always made the safety of our work force a primary goal. We want everyone to go home to their families as healthy as they were when they came in to work. Over the past 30 years, we've implemented many innovative safety programs and, as a result, received numerous safety awards from Independent Electrical Contractors, Associated Builders and Contractors, National Association of Women in Construction, Liberty Mutual, Amerisure, and many construction managers. But as well as we've done, we want to do better. Hence a decision was made to create the position of Safety Director. Our Safety Director will be completely dedicated to promoting the importance of jobsite safety. He will instruct and show by example how the highest standard of safety can be attained in our unique workplace.
We are pleased to formally announce that Sean Hendry has been selected to fill this position. Many of you are aware that Sean served as the onsite Safety Officer at the St. Joseph's Hospital - South project, overseeing the daily jobsite safety practices of a 100+ person APG crew. He is an accomplished journeyman with 18 years of experience in the industry, which makes him an excellent fit for the job. He has seen and experienced the day to day safety issues that arise during construction and has learned how to effectively handle them. Sean is an expert in safety. Here are some of his credentials:
