When APG saw a new opportunity in 2000 to move beyond electrical and voice/data construction and into integrated building systems, the APG Automation group was born. The idea was to meet the needs of customers interested in creating high performance buildings, with a focus on energy management and security systems.
As an authorized Partner of Schneider Electric, a leading global manufacturer of energy management systems and security products, APG provides a number of building management and security systems under the Schneider flag, including Andover Controls, SmartStruxure, SmartStruxure Lite for small buildings, Pelco, and Square-D variable frequency drives. With their strong industry reputations, these products have been installed on some of the most high profile projects in the country. Led by Group Manager Kevin DeWitt, APG Automation continues on a path that is leading to substantial growth and success.
The preconstruction team of Mitch Day, Kip Goulder, and George Balcombe has been hard at work bringing in a record number of new projects and opportunities for APG Automation. More and more customers are getting to know APG and regularly seek assistance from the team as they plan new projects.
Miguel Lebrias and his daughter, Michelle, use their expertise to bring the proposals into design, selecting the right parts, pieces, and system configurations for the project, and produce shop drawings for the installation team.
Kevin, George, Kip, and Eric Quinones all serve as project managers for the Automation Group. Eric came to us in 2013 with many years of experience and has managed some of the largest projects lately, including St. Joseph’s Hospital – South, Florida Polytechnic University, and Polk State College’s Center for Public Safety and Central Utility Plant.
The most important assets to the Automation operation are the field technicians and programmers. These employees handle multiple projects each month, sometimes at odd hours, with outstanding professionalism and attention to detail.
